Therapeutic/Holistic Massage

Massage is a great way to relax and unwind from the stresses of modern life. It is also therapeutic by helping to maintain optimal functioning of the body. Massage works on various systems of the body, particularly the muscular, nervous and lymphatic, to aid in relaxing muscular tension, improving circulation and elimination of end products of metabolism or 'toxins', and relaxing the body's nervous system.



Reflexology

Reflexology is a way of treating the body in a holistic way by applying pressure to the relevant reflex points on the feet. In particular, blockages that may be the cause of disease are worked on, bringing about a state of equilibrium in the body. It is recommended that a series of at least 4 treatments be given to begin to get marked results. Abdominal Sacral Massage works on the abdominal area of the body, helping to bring the body's internal organs back into alignment. It primary focus is on the digestive system and female reproductive system.

Abdominal sacral Massage is particularly effective in the treatment of constipation, bloating and sluggish digestion, and in conditions such as fibroids, painful periods and fertility problems.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy Massage uses gentle massage techniques and is effective at relieving stress and anxiety. It incorporates breath-work with slow rhythmic strokes to engage the person and allow for a deep sense of relaxation. After a brief consultation, essential oils are selected to be used in your bespoke massage treatment. As these essences are absorbed into the body via the skin, they have an effect on the skin and also on the system as a whole being absorbed through the skin into the body.

Essential oils, through their smell, influence the mood via the lymbic system and so can have a very direct effect on emotions and mood.



Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) is strong and rhythmic. It is carried out on the floor and uses palming and pulsing techniques in combination with yogic stretches. Based on traditional Indian yogic philosophy, it views the body as composed of many nadis or meridians.

Health is maintained by the free flow of energy through these nadis, disease is the result of their blockage.

The massage works on the most important of these nadis, freeing the flow of energy through them and restoring health. Loose or stretchy clothing must be worn for this massage.
